Geotechnical Introductory Course
An introduction to geotechnical analysis in LUSAS.
Who is it for?

-
New or existing users
This course is for geotechnical engineers with little or no prior knowledge of LUSAS, or for existing LUSAS users interested in exploring geotechnical modelling. -
In summary
The course covers getting started with LUSAS and proceeds to cover in detail:- 2D geotechnical models, non-linear calculations, and the influence of water
- Exploration of topics such as excavation, dewatering, structural support elements, and stability analysis
- 3D geotechnical models, pile load test modelling, and soil-structure interaction
-
What will I learn about?
LUSAS Modelling
Understanding modelling in LUSAS with feature geometry, meshing, engineering attributes, 2D and 3D modelling
Geotechnical analyses
Bearing capacity, stability analysis, excavation, staged construction
Geotechnical materials
Exploration of different geotechnical material models, defining initial stresses, creating soil-structure interfaces
Water analysis
Pore pressure, drained and undrained materials, phreatic surfaces, dewatering
